Ben and Annaliese’s wedding was nothing short of magical—a perfect blend of natural elegance and heartfelt celebration. Held at the stunning Briars Conservatory in the Southern Highlands, their special day was set against the golden hues of a late-summer afternoon, transitioning beautifully into a romantic, sparkler-lit evening.
As a wedding videographer, it’s always a treat when the light, the location, and the love story all align. This one ticked every box.
A Golden Hour Ceremony in the Gardens
The ceremony began just as the late afternoon sun bathed the Conservatory’s gardens in soft, warm light. Guests were seated among the trees and blooms, surrounded by the gentle sounds of nature and anticipation. Ben stood proudly at the altar, his face lighting up as Annaliese appeared, radiant in her gown and framed by the tall trees and delicate florals.
Their vows were raw and personal—real moments that I was honoured to capture through my lens. With birdsong in the background and soft sunlight dappling through the trees, the ceremony felt both intimate and timeless.
Location Shoot Around the Grounds
After the “I dos” and family hugs, we wandered around the grounds of the Briars Conservatory for their location shoot. This is where the venue really shines. From manicured paths to open fields and secluded spots under giant trees, every frame was cinematic. We captured gentle candid moments—Ben helping with Annaliese’s dress, soft laughs as they walked barefoot across the grass, and a quiet moment by the lake as the sky turned pastel.
There’s a serenity in the Southern Highlands you can’t fake, and it added a dreamy tone to every shot.
The Conservatory Reception & Dancing Under the Lights
As night fell, guests moved into the Conservatory for the reception. The glass structure, softly lit with fairy lights and candles, created a warm, romantic ambiance. Speeches filled the room with laughter and tears, followed by dancing that lit up the night.
From the first dance to the energetic moves on the floor, I focused on capturing the vibe, the emotion, and those in-between moments—the grandparents smiling from their table, kids spinning in circles, and friends cheering as the cake was cut.
A Sparkler Exit to Remember
Just when it felt like the night couldn’t get more beautiful, guests lined up with sparklers in hand. Ben and Annaliese ran through a tunnel of glowing light, surrounded by cheers, laughter, and shimmering sparks. That moment—the two of them holding hands, running into their future, faces lit by the glow—was the perfect cinematic ending to a day full of love.
If you’re planning your own wedding at the Briars Conservatory or anywhere in the Southern Highlands, I’d love to help you turn your day into a lasting memory.
Let’s create something beautiful.
