Public Park Wedding Locations in Sydney
Relax,Fun & Free
1 McKell Park
McKell Park is on the shores of Sydney Harbour with views of the Harbour Bridge to the west and Sydney Heads to the east.
The park comprises grassed landscape terraces stepping down to the harbour foreshore and the public ferry wharf. The Park is ideal for wedding ceremonies as it has superb Harbour views and manicured gardens surrounded by magnificent mature trees. The Harbour and the well maintained gardens provide a perfect backdrop for any special occasion. It is a great vantage point to view Sydney Harbour activities. The heritage listed Canonbury Cottage is the centrepiece of the Park.
Weddings and private social events are restricted to less than 100 people
No marquees or wedding arches are permitted in association with the use of the park
The park is closed in the evenings except for New Year’s Eve celebrations
2 Treillage Viewing Platform – Bicentennial Park
Bicentennial Park was designed in the great historical landscape tradition based on classical design principles of order, geometry, focal points and axes. The east-west axis is an avenue of plane trees and Manchurian pears reinforcing the strong linear quality of a raised plateau of gardens bisected by a north-south vista of mangroves. At the intersection of these axes, at the highest point in the park, is the Treillage Tower.
Treillage is a French word for lattice that was commonly used in gardens in the 16th century, and the Treillage Tower is the centrepiece of Bicentennial Park. Climb the staircase up 3 storeys to the 17m high viewing platform for soothing views over the green expanses of Bicentennial Park, the Parramatta River and city skyline.

Parramatta Park (Old Government House and Domain) is one of the 11 historic places that together form the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage property.

There are many wedding ceremony locations to choose from, including The Bathhouse, Rumsey Rose Garden and a choice of many lawns.
The Bathhouse
In 1822 Colonial Architect S L Harris designed a Bath House for Governor Brisbane. The Bath House was sophisticated having a heated plunge pool and a domed roof surmounted by a cupola lantern. In 1886 the Park Trustees converted it into a pavilion.
Rumsey Rose Garden
The garden comprises rose arbours and beds around a central lawn and paved paths. Suitable for wedding ceremonies, photography, cocktail parties and small gatherings. Best flowering display is in Oct-Nov and May.

TIPS FOR SELECTING THE BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN SYDNEY
Some brides make the mistake of hiring a wedding photographer without first researching what they will get for their money. The phrase "you get your negatives" sounds great, but when do you get them? The original price sounds great, but how much do additional prints cost? So often, brides purchase a package knowing they don't want everything in it, but they believe they're getting a good deal because it's all together. Sorry, but photography isn't like buying a "value meal" at McDonald's! To be certain, you must conduct research before making a decision. Visit as many studios as possible. Please call them first and make an appointment as a courtesy. They'll most likely have higher service standards if they're friendly or call you back quickly. Inquire whether they have any information that they can mail or email to you. Let's meet the photographer. Using a fine-toothed comb, go through their website. Do you see any flaws or problems? The most common reason people make mistakes when hiring photographers is a lack of experience! They've never had to hire photographers, and their most recent encounter with a professional photographer was probably at a friend's wedding, where the grumpy, sweaty old guy was either a bore or an annoying jerk.
You adore their style/ taste.
There are thousands of photographers in Sydney, each with their own distinct style, ranging from reportage to artistic, traditional, and documentary; find a style that you both enjoy and that reflects the theme of your wedding. Find a photographer who edits their photos in a style that you like so that you can create fun and natural images that reflect you both.
You have faith in them.
It's crucial to know you can put your trust in your photographer and let them do what they do best. Make sure you leave feeling confident and happy after meeting them, and that they answer any questions you may have, no matter how silly they may be. Follow your instincts – if something doesn't feel right, go meet with another photographer you like.
You don't want to be worried about them on your wedding day, whether it's making sure they get certain shots or directing them around. Talk to them ahead of time about any formal family photos you might want, and then just let them go. They've been doing it for years, so let them do what they do best. Go with the flow, have fun, and trust your photographer when it comes to creating fun shots with you and your partner.
Look for someone who can adapt to a variety of styles.
Take a look at what they have to offer. Traditional, black and white, candid, romantic, and photo-journalistic are some styles to consider. Examine how they deal with both indoor and outdoor situations. Can they do both fine portraiture and a truly candid style? Find out what they have in store for you. Remember that the photographer's creativity and personality (as well as your rapport with him/her) are what distinguishes your wedding photos and make your expressions more genuine.
